"Your feelings make us uncomfortable, and if you show any hint of them in public we're going to punish you by calling the cops. Be normal."
I hate being right.
Not nearly as much, mind you, as I always hated open-ended "write whatever comes to mind" English assignments. Or Hypocrisy- especially High School Hypocrisy, an institution designed to teach people not to think.
This bullshit, right here? The #1 cause of school shootings.
They happen, and everyone is always "wah wah, why didn't anyone see this coming?" You're teaching them they can't show their anger, their rage, their dark side- ever. And if they do, it will not be met with understanding, or discussion, or help- it will be punished. Bottle it up inside kids, that's right, push it all down!
And yeah, it's entirely possible he was deliberately thumbing his nose at the teacher- they called the cops on him and he might go to jail for a month.
Fire everyone. This is anti-education.
